If we are interested in Slovak law, we can find the official texts of the laws on the slo-lex.sk portal. Here is how to search for a law or decree. If you are looking for municipal and regional ordinances, these are usually published on their websites.
Instructions
1. On the slov-lex.sk portal, click on“Legislation” and then select“Collection of Laws of the Slovak Republic“.
2. It will then offer us the option to search for a regulation (law or decree) by regulation number, by name, or by another search term.
3. For example, if you are looking for the Civil Code, enter the text in the“Regulation name” field: civil code.
4, Press Enter, or click the magnifying glass icon.
5. In the search results we found the regulation No. 40/1964 Coll. Civil Code. We click on it.

6. The text of the Civil Code opens and the first lines tell you that this is the text of the Civil Code in force today – this is important information, so that you do not accidentally study an older and ineffective text.
7. If we are interested in older versions of the regulations, we can view them by clicking on the clock icon on the right (the icon labeled “History” at the bottom of the image).
